The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Sambalpur has taken a step by becoming the first IIM to integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) as faculty in its classrooms. The announcement was made during the institute’s 10th Foundation Day celebrations, reinforcing its commitment to innovation and excellence in management education.
With AI playing a pivotal role in reshaping learning, Professor Mahadeo Jaiswal, Director, IIM Sambalpur, highlighted that the technology will transition faculty roles from traditional teaching to designing and facilitating dynamic learning experiences. AI-driven tools will personalise education, adapt to student needs and provide interactive and engaging classroom sessions. By leveraging data-driven insights, educators will be able to refine teaching strategies for better student outcomes. The institute also plans to establish three Centres of Excellence focused on cutting-edge research and global collaborations.
The integration of AI as faculty is expected to revolutionise classroom experiences by offering customised learning paths, enhancing student engagement and enabling educators to fine-tune their teaching methodologies. This pioneering initiative positions IIM Sambalpur as a frontrunner in AI-driven education, setting a new benchmark for management institutions across India.
