HSBC has appointed Prateek Kumar as the Senior Vice President (VP)—Asset Analytics, leveraging his extensive expertise in retail banking, credit cards, risk management and analytics transformation. In this new role, he will focus on enhancing HSBC’s analytical capabilities, portfolio risk optimisation and product innovation.
With a strong background in financial modelling, fraud mitigation and Machine Learning (ML), Kumar has played a crucial role in data visualisation, marketing strategy and fraud detection. Having previously served as VP—Assets and Transactional Banking Analytics Lead at HSBC, his leadership in credit risk management, pricing optimisation and customer segmentation has significantly influenced strategic decision-making.
Kumar brings a wealth of experience from JP Morgan Chase, EY and HSBC Vietnam, making him a thought leader in analytics transformation and technology consulting. His expertise in Artificial Intelligence (AI)-driven models for fraud scoring and risk assessment will further strengthen HSBC’s data-driven approach to risk management and customer engagement.
