Data Strategist Vivek Zakarde has joined IDBI Bank Limited as General Manager (Head of Analytics). He will be the Analytical Leader for the entire IDBI Bank and integral part of top management.
Speaking on his appointment, Zakarde said, “I am thankful to our MD and DMD for showing confidence in my abilities and skills. I have a passion for building and leading high-powered teams to deliver data-driven results improving products, services and business processes.”
Prior to joining IDBI Bank, he was the SVP- Analytics, IndusInd bank. He has served as Head-Data Engineering, Data Science and BI at several tech companies like India Infoline Group, Reliance General Insurance Ltd, EXL Services and WNS. He also holds global experience with clients like British Gas (UK), Ford Motors (US), Suncorp Bank (Australia) and TORM Shipping (Denmark).
“I will make data analytics as the brain and part of the central nervous system in the organisation and will give the shift to digitisation and AI. The use of data will accelerate over the next years – driving decision-making by ever-more constituents, adopting Artificial Intelligence (AI), making sense of the Metaverse, and other high-tech knowledge-driven endeavours,” he further said.
Zakarde is a veteran of Big Data, AI and Data Science, having created and led Data Science, Data engineering and BI teams in his career. He has a winning formula for building and mentoring such teams who can add value to a business. He has developed a global reputation in data management, implementing powerful solutions through expertise in all aspects of the data pyramid that works well with business as well as organisational strategy.
