The State Bank of India (SBI) has appointed Baldev Prakash as its Deputy Managing Director (DMD) and Group Chief Risk Officer (CRO). The move comes after he completed his three-year tenure as the Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Jammu and Kashmir Bank in December.
In addition, SBI has also entrusted Shiva Om Dikshit with a new role as DMD, Operations-Channel Management, further strengthening its leadership team.
Prakash brings over 30 years of banking experience across various roles in small and large SBI branches. His expertise spans national-level policy-making and strategising in critical banking areas at SBI, along with international exposure to remittance business and treasury operations during his tenure in Muscat, Oman.
These developments underscore ongoing efforts to bolster risk management, operational efficiency and regulatory compliance within the Indian banking sector.
