The State Bank of India (SBI) has appointed Virendra Bansal as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Managing Director (MD), a statement from the company informed.
It notified that Bansal has replaced Rajay Kumar Sinha, who, last month, has been appointed as the Whole Time Member – Finance and Investment, Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI), for a period of three years.
Earlier, Bansal was the Country Head for SBI’s US Operations, which includes its offices in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Sao Paulo and Washington DC, the statement noted.
It further added that Bansal has also worked as the CEO, SBI, New York and as Vice-Chairman, SBI, California.
