Bandhan Bank has announced that the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has appointed Arun Kumar Singh as an Additional Director on the Board of the bank for a tenure of one year. Singh was earlier employed as the Chief General Manager (CGM) at the central bank till his retirement.
The appointment comes when the current MD and CEO Chandra Shekhar Ghosh is set to retire on 9th July, 2024 after serving for almost a decade, including three consecutive terms, at the helm.
Singh, who is 60 years old, has a working experience of almost 36 years with the RBI. He has worked in various capacities in the field of non-banking supervision and regulation, banking supervision and regulation, financial inclusion, monetary policy, Information Technology (IT), enforcement actions against banks and non-banks and government banking.
Meanwhile, a search committee has been established, and it has engaged head-hunters to recommend a candidate for the position of MD and CEO at Bandhan Bank, as Ghosh aims to take on a broader strategic role within the group.
