Union Minister of State for Cooperation Muralidhar Mohol has unveiled the 18th branch of Rajgurunagar Cooperative Bank in Bhamboli, Pune.
The ceremony was attended by local dignitaries, including MLA Babaji Kale, BJP District President Sharad Butte-Patil, and bank officials.
Mohol commended the growth of urban cooperative banks and emphasised their role in strengthening the cooperative sector. He highlighted the government’s efforts, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah, to empower urban cooperative banks, especially in semi-urban areas crucial to rural economic development.
Bank Chairman Dinesh Oswal announced a 9 per cent dividend for shareholders for the fiscal year 2023–24, credited directly to their accounts. He also advocated for increasing the gold loan bullet limit and the Commercial Real Estate (CRE) loan limit, noting the bank’s zero Non-Performing Assets (NPAs) in the CRE category.
Rajgurunagar Cooperative Bank reported a business mix of Rs 2,901 crore for the fiscal year ending 31st March, 2025, marking a 15 per cent growth over the previous year.
The event underscores the bank’s commitment to expanding its reach and supporting the economic development of the region.
