The Pochampally Cooperative Urban Bank has inaugurated its new headquarters at Bhoodan Pochampally, in a landmark move to bolster financial services in Telangana.
The ceremony was graced by the Minister of Agriculture, Cooperation and Handlooms and Textiles, Government of Telangana, Thummala Nageshwara Rao, who commended the bank’s commitment to financial inclusion and rural development.
He highlighted the bank’s crucial role in empowering farmers, weavers, women, and small entrepreneurs by offering accessible and efficient financial services.
During his address, the Minister encouraged the bank to utilise its enhanced infrastructure to embrace digital banking, ensure transparency, and expand outreach to underserved communities.
“This new headquarters is a symbol of progress and commitment. It will enable the bank to innovate and better serve farmers, women, and small businesses,” said Minister Thummala Nageshwara Rao.
He further called on the bank to play a more active role in promoting sustainable agricultural practices and fostering self-reliance among rural populations, assuring full support from the government in these endeavours.
Tadaka Ramesh, Chairman, Pochampally Cooperative Urban Bank shared key performance milestones of the institution. As of 31st March, 2025, the bank’s business stood at Rs 404 crore, including Rs 236 crore in deposits and Rs 168 crore in advances, with a credit-deposit ratio of 71 per cent.
Notably, the bank has maintained a zero Non-Performing Asset (NPA) record since its inception in 1997. Currently operating 11 branches, the bank plans to open 11 more in locations such as Ibrahimpatnam, Kalwakurthy, Bhongir, and Nagar Kurnool within the current financial year. The customer base has crossed the one lakh mark, and the Capital Adequacy Ratio has consistently remained above 12 per cent. Pochampally Cooperative Urban Bank is also the first cooperative urban bank in Telangana to introduce cash recyclers.
The bank is guided by the principle of ‘Gaining the confidence of the people and serving better,’ and has set an ambitious target to grow its business to Rs 1,000 crore and expand to 50 branches over the next three years.
Sri Seetha Srinivas, Chief Executive Officer, Pochampally Cooperative Urban Bank outlined the bank’s strategic vision for growth, reaffirming its mission to uplift rural livelihoods through customised financial products, affordable credit, and partnerships with government initiatives. He underscored the importance of low-interest loans, financial literacy programmes for women and youth, and improved digital customer services.
“Our new headquarters will strengthen our capacity to serve the community better and collaborate closely with the Government initiatives for the prosperity of the people,” he said.
The inauguration drew notable dignitaries including Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy, Member of Parliament; Kumbham Anil Kumar Reddy, Member of Legislative Assembly; Hanmantha Rao, District Collector; and Madan Gopala Swamy, Director, NAFCUB along with board members, staff, and local officials, reflecting the widespread support for the bank’s expanding role in the region’s economic ecosystem.
With the launch of its new headquarters, Pochampally Cooperative Urban Bank is set to significantly enhance its operational capabilities and contribute meaningfully to the socio-economic progress of Telangana.
