The National Urban Cooperative Finance and Development Corporation (NUCFDC) has appointed Prabhat Chaturvedi as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). He takes over from Atul Khirwadkar, the corporation’s first CEO, who laid the foundation for its vision as a key player in the cooperative banking sector.
With a rich background in financial leadership, including his previous role as CEO of Netafim Agricultural Financing Agency (NAFA), Chaturvedi brings a wealth of experience to NUCFDC. His appointment is expected to bring a renewed focus on technology adoption and management excellence, areas where UCBs have traditionally lagged behind their competitors.
Under Chaturvedi’s leadership, NUCFDC is poised to create a fully integrated ecosystem that promotes inclusive banking solutions. By equipping UCBs with modern tools and technologies, the corporation aims to improve their competitiveness and customer service capabilities, addressing long-standing gaps in the sector.
Chaturvedi’s leadership is set to transform NUCFDC into a driving force in India’s cooperative banking landscape, ensuring that urban cooperative banks play a more significant role in providing the last-mile financial services to under-served communities across the country.
