Indian Institute of Management, Sirmaur, organised a three-day Management Development Programme (MDP) for the officials from Indian Metro Organsations’ Society (I-Metro) from 13th to 15th December, 2023. Under the theme “On a fast track to Success: Leading the Change in the VUCA world,” the programme aimed at enriching the managerial skills of the participants.
Professor Prafulla Agnihotri, Director, IIM Sirmaur, inaugurated the process of co-learning with the participants with a session on developing and imparting impactful training. He also conducted sessions on leadership development as well as time and task management.
Talking about leadership, he highlighted the importance of common sense and empathy in effective leadership.
The sessions were geared towards giving a fresh holistic perspective on management. These included building a responsible metro organisation, communication and customer service, organisational change, organisation design and structure.
The sessions also allowed professionals to explore skills like agile for C-suite, financial management, wage, industrial relations and change in codes.
Programme Directors Professor Parijat Lanke and Professor Advaita Rajendra concluded the programme with conversations on continuous learning organisations, borrowing from popular allegories and analogies.
The programme saw participation from officials from metro organisations across the country, including Kochi, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh (UP), Chennai, Bengaluru, Maharashtra and Gujarat.
