Biranchi Narayan Sahoo took charge as Executive Director, Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI). He will be handling Corporation Finance Investigation Department (CFID), according to a statement released by SEBI yesterday.
Prior to his promotion as Executive Director, Sahoo was Chief General Manager in SEBI, and has handled several assignments since his joining in 1996. He has, in the past, served in various departments, including Investigations Department (IVD), Investment Management Department (IMD), Corporation Finance Department (CFD), Human Resources Department (HRD), Market Intermediaries Regulation and Supervision Department (MIRSD) and Eastern Regional Office (ERO), the statement added.
It also said that Sahoo is a Cost Accountant from the Institute of Cost Accountants of India (ICMAI) and holds a Bachelor degree in Science from Utkal University.
