The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has approved the appointment of Krishnan Venkat Subramanian, popularly known as KVS Manian, as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Federal Bank for a period of three years. His term will commence on 23rd September, 2024, following the end of the current MD and CEO’s term on 22nd September, 2024.
In a recent exchange filing, Federal Bank announced, “We wish to inform you that, based on our application made to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on 06th May, 2024, for its approval for the new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Bank, the RBI has, vide its letter dated 22nd July, 2024, approved the appointment of Krishnan Venkat Subramanian as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Bank under Section 35B of the Banking Regulation Act, 2013, for a period of three years, with effect from 23rd September, 2024, after the expiry of the term of the current MD and CEO on 22nd September, 2024.”
Krishnan Venkat Subramanian was the Joint Managing Director of Kotak Mahindra Bank until 30th April, 2024, where he led the corporate, commercial, private banking and asset reconstruction businesses. He played a pivotal role in developing a high-quality, integrated and profitable franchise across these sectors. His tenure was marked by significant advancements in technology and the enhancement of transaction banking capabilities. Additionally, he oversaw the investment banking and institutional equities businesses, maintaining their leadership positions within the industry.
