ICICI Lombard has named Sanjeev Mantri as the Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the company, recently. He succeeds Bhargav Dasgupta, who was appointed as the Vice President of Asian Development Bank.
The Board of Directors of ICICI Lombard approved Mantri’s appointment, currently, Executive Director of the company, as MD and CEO, effective 1st December, 2023 or the date of approval from the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI), whichever is later, for a period of five consecutive years or his date of retirement, whichever is later.
Mantri has been with the ICICI Group for nearly 20 years. He began his career with Bennett Coleman & Co. before moving on to significant leadership positions at BNP Paribas.
Dasgupta had tendered his resignation on 21st September, 2023, after over 14 years of service, in order to pursue career opportunities outside India.
