Latur Urban Cooperative Bank has recently elected 23-year-old Aakash Rahul Rathi, as the youngest chairman. The bank, established nearly three decades ago, boasts a business portfolio of Rs 1,500 crore, 19 branches and a net profit of Rs 23.11 crore, all while maintaining a zero Non-Performing Asset (NPA) status.
Aakash, a double graduate in commerce with a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Finance and Real Estate, bringing academic credentials to his role. He has also completed 19 international courses from esteemed institutions such as Columbia University, University of London and the University of Virginia. These certifications span key areas like project management, budgeting, financial modeling and digital transformation, equipping him with a global perspective and contemporary expertise.
The young chairman takes over from the bank’s founder, Pradeep Rathi, whose visionary leadership laid the foundation for the bank’s remarkable journey. Rathi’s dedication has been instrumental in transforming the bank into a financial powerhouse and a trusted institution in the cooperative banking sector.
With Rathi at the helm, the bank is expected to further strengthen its presence and embrace new opportunities in the dynamic banking landscape. This achievement highlights the growing trend of young leaders taking charge and shaping the future of cooperative banking in India.
