The information and broadcasting industry received foreign direct investment (FDI) of Rs 1,535.2 crore during the quarter ended December 2022, data from the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) show.
Of this amount, the films and advertisements sub-segment received Rs 1,524.8 crore, while radio broadcasting received Rs 10.3 crore.
For the first nine months of 2022-23, the FDI remittance in the I&B sector amounted to ₹2,925 crore. Several media and advertising companies, including Dentsu India, MediaCom, Amagi Media Labs, Qyou Media India, and Triple Com Media received FDI through both the automatic and acquisition of existing shares routes during the December quarter.
